Favicon - WordPress 4.3 Adds New Site Icons Feature

WordPress 4.3 is on track to include a new site icon feature, which will allow administrators to easily upload an image to be used as favicon and app icons on a website. Favicons have traditionally been handled by WordPress themes or plugins, but the new WordPress core has now added support to favicons, which means that users no longer have to hunt down an extension to handle this basic site feature.

From WordPress 4.3 onwards, the Site Icon feature (favicon) can be found by going to Appearance -> Customize and clicking on Site Identity.
